For a prototype course, and with three other project members, an android app was created and launched to google play. With the goal to increase knowledge about sustainability an app with a quiz and a recycling game was developed. Using an API to retrieve and store highscores.
Using: Android Studio, Kotlin, Visual Studio, .NET C#, SQL, Azure Portal, Figma
During the fall of 2018 I attended the course Prototype development for mobile applications. The teacher assigned project members depending on what kind of app they wanted to develop. I was put in a group with four members who all said they wanted to learn more about android development. We started off with making lo-fis using pen and paper. After that we user tested our lo-fis and went on to create a mi-fi using the prototyping tool Figma. Which we user tested and iterated the design on.
Then we moved on to the hi-fi prototype. We decided to use the programming language kotlin since none in the group had used it before but we all had experience developing in Java. Since kotlin runs on the Java engine it should not be too complex to go from Java to Kotlin.
The requirement for the finished prototype was that it needed to use a database on a server. I had the responsibility to create and implement this solution since I was the project member with the most experience with databases and combining SQL with other platforms.
